I was one of the first people in this morning. Oddly enough, everyone in cars took ages, while the busses ran without trouble. It did then proceed to vomit snow all over everything. Oh well.

Funnily enough, it's one of the first pictures I punted onto this flickr thingamabob wot I have got for myself. Funkily, I can punt stuff straight there from my camera using the attached telephone. Rather awesome. Time to dig through iPhoto and work out what to upload.

A thought, bubbling in the back of my head from last week. Am I really good at my job(s) because I was a last-minute crammer?

I have two domains. Originally, I had a plan for each of them, but that didn't pan out after I a) started writing for money and b) moved to Edinburgh. And now, I wonder what to do with them.

Warning: Long and opinionated.

The Past )

The Present )

The Future )

tl;dr:

digitalraven.org's becoming a new fairly-static professional site with a couple of old articles and stories tidied up and used as writing samples. I want to do something with zeropointinformation.com but I don't yet know what, and am interested in ideas.

I'm also up for recommendations of services and web2.0ish sites that either give something new to do4, or that give me better ways to do the things that I already do.

Hell, I'm also up for re-examining the way that I use the web in general. Fire it all out there.

Anything to take my mind off the fact that seven out of the last ten people to start reading my ramblings are Russian.

Went on holiday. Did lots of walking. Very good. Very relaxing. Pictures and writeup when I get a CF-card reader[0].

I've just finished reading [livejournal.com profile] wyrm_chris's review of Shadows of the UK, and the followup forum. [livejournal.com profile] dandelion_clock posted in there a couple of threads discussing the book when it came out that I hadn't seen before. They raised a couple of issues with my bits of the book that I want to respond to[1], but the thread's been dead for a long time now and I know better than to attempt necromancy with my first post to That Place.

I therefore throw it open to the floor: Is it worth me responding here? On the LJ Werewolf community? Somewhere else? Or should I just let it be?

[0]: The camera was both cheap and old, hence the odd style of storage—world+dog seems set on SD these days, with the exception of morons at Sony who think MemoryStick is all people need.
